Building the Right Foundations

The behaviours you encourage, ignore or allow during these early stages can have a big impact on the adult dog they eventually become.
Our Puppy Package is designed to help you put the right foundations in place early, with training that develops your puppy’s relationship with you while introducing clear boundaries and expectations.
Training may include:

Introduction to Lead Walking
Good lead behaviour is much easier to establish early than it is to correct later.
We’ll introduce your puppy to walking on the lead in a structured way, helping them understand how to move with you rather than constantly pulling, stopping or becoming distracted by everything around them.
The aim is to begin developing a puppy that naturally looks to the handler for direction and can gradually become comfortable and responsive on walks.
Building Pack Drive and Engagement
One of the most important things we can develop in a young dog is their desire to engage with and follow their handler.
Rather than allowing the outside world to become more interesting than you, we’ll work on strengthening your puppy’s connection with you.
This helps create the foundations for future recall, obedience, focus and everyday control.
Basic Obedience
We’ll begin introducing the fundamental behaviours your puppy will need as they grow.
Depending on their age and development, this may include:
- Sit
- Down
- Recall foundations

The emphasis is on developing understanding and consistency rather than expecting perfection from a young puppy.
Confidence Building & Exposure
The early stages of a puppy’s life are incredibly important for developing confidence.
We’ll help introduce your puppy to new experiences in a controlled and appropriate way, allowing them to experience different environments, sights, sounds and distractions without overwhelming them.
The goal isn’t simply to expose your puppy to as much as possible.
It’s to help them learn how to experience something new while remaining calm, confident and connected to their handler.
Addressing Problems Early
Small puppy behaviours can quickly become much bigger problems as the dog becomes older, stronger and more confident.
During training, we’ll also identify and work on any unwanted behaviours that may already be starting to appear.
This could include:
